Who Will Be Crowned “King Of The Creek� In 2017?

Spring Valley, MN (February 10) By Todd Narveson:  The Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, MN along with marketing partner A&A Electric & Underground of Kasson, MN are excited to announce a new program that will crown an overall champion at Deer Creek Speedway.

Dubbed “King Of The Creek�, it will be open to any driver in the five weekly classes that compete at Deer Creek Speedway. There will be a minimum $5,000 point fund that will be divided among the top 10 registered drivers at the end of the playoffs. If the point fund grows over $5,000 additional positions may be paid out. Here is how the program works for those who wish to participate.

Any driver in any class is eligible to register and the cost of registration is $100. The minimum point fund is set at $5,000 but will increase by $100 per car for every car over the count of 25 that is involved. The points will be awarded by feature finish position only and no heat race points will be awarded. A feature win is worth 50-points and will drop off by one point per position.

Drivers will also earn one passing point for each car passed from their original starting position. If there are more than 21-cars in the feature race of your class, you will be awarded one bonus point. However, if you happen to be disqualified from any qualifying race, you are then not eligible to earn passing points. Also points will only be awarded on the race nights that all five classes are racing.

Qualifying will start on June 3 and end on July 29 and then on August 5 the playoffs will begin. The top 15 in points will be reset with the leader starting at 1000-points and then descends two points with each position. The “King Of The Creek� will be crowned on August 26. Of the minimum $5,000 purse, the champion will receive a cool $1,000 and 10th spot will receive $200. That prize money could rise if more than 25-drivers are involved or if additional money is added by sponsors.
