Kennedy, Boland, and Tarras start out the 2016 Blake Trucking Slingshot Season On Top!

Welcome back race fans to the Button Buck Speedway in Spring Valley, Mn.  The May 21, 2016 Blake Trucking Slingshot season at Deer Creek Speedway has officially begun, and what a day it was for these kids!

The pee wee feature was being led by the 8T of Toby Kennedy on pole.  The 43 of Coby Wagner started front row outside.  Second row inside was the 411 of Gavin Oldefendt with the 297 of Athony Ihlenfeld on the outside.  Third row inside was the 7c of Curtis Parmenter.  Koby Wagner challenged the 8T of Kennedy right away on the start, while the 411 of Oldefendt put pressure on the 43 of Wagner.  The 297 of Ihlenfeld and the 7c of Parmenter are new to the pee wee circuit this year and did their best to keep up with the pee veterans of Kennedy, Wagner, and Oldefendt.  At the checkered flag, it was the 8T of Kennedy who pulled out the 10 lap feature win, followed by the 43 of Wagner, and the 411 of Oldefendt in third.  The 297 of Ihlenfeld held onto the 4th place spot, with the 7c of Parmenter coming in 5th.   The pee wee class should be an exicting one to watch again this year!

The pole position for this 12 lap junior feature belonged to the 88 car of Brady Boland.  Front row outside was the 109 of Aiden Leonard, second row inside was the 12 of Ayden Howard alongside the 20 of Gage Motl on the outside.  Third row inside was the K34 of Kolton Brauer.  Boland got out to an early lead on the start while the 109 of Leonard and the 20 of Motl battled for the 2nd place spot.  The 12 of Howard was hot on the tail of Motl and Leonard.  The K34 of Brauer is new to the junior class this year coming from the pee wee class in 2015, and rounded up the pack in 5th place.  After a caution, the 12 of Howard took over the 3rd place position behind Boland and Leonard. The 20 of Motl now in 4th stretched out the distance between him and the K34 of Brauer in 5th.  Brady Boland continued to lead all the way to the checkered flag followed by the 109 of Leonard, the 12 of Howard, the 20 of Motl, and the K34 of Brauer.  Plenty of competition this year remains in this junior class!

Finally, it was time for the “big dogs of the Button Buck track to run in the senior class slingshot feature.  This 18 lap feature was being led out by the 18R of Evan Reyna on pole with the 50 of Gavin Tarras on the outside.  The 25 of Joe Chisholm started 2nd row inside alongside the 34jr of Braden Brauer on the outside.  Third row inside was the 44 of Karlie Wagner, while outside 3rd row was the 77 of Hunter Kennedy.  4th row inside was the 27 of Jacob Peterson with the 4W of Tucker Williams outside.  Starting in 5th place was the 19 of Jordan Peterson.  A rough start at the drop of the flag sent a couple cars off the track, but on the restart, it was the 50 of Tarras who was able to get out in front ahead of Reyna.  The 25 of Chisholm in third battled with the 18R of Reyna for the second place position, but Reyna was able to hold him off down the track.  The 4W of Williams took over the 4th place spot followed by the 77 of Kennedy in 5th.  The 44 of Karlie Wagner was trying to keep her position in 6th ahead of the 34jr of Brauer in 7th. The 19 of Peterson held onto the 8th place position behind Brauer looking for his opening, while the 27 of Peterson brought up the 9th place position and did his best with being new to the senior slingshot class.  While these seniors stretched out their positions, it was the 50 of Tarras who continued to lead the race to the checkered flag followed by the 18R of Reyna and the 25 of Chisholm to wrap up your top three finishers.  The 4W of Williams in 4th, the 77 of Kennedy in 5th, the 44 of Wagner finished 6th, the 34jr of Brauer 7th, the 27 of JacobcPeterson 8th, and the 19 of Jordan Peterson in 9th.  The 50

of Gavin Tarras wanted to dedicate this senior feature win to his cousin, Chase Viebrock, who was recently injured while racing his sprint car.

Heat race winners this week include the 8T of Toby Kennedy for the pee wee class.  The 88 of Brady Boland, and the 109 of Aiden Leonard in the junior class.  The 44 of Karlie Wagner and the 50 of Gavin Tarras in the senior class.
