Road Construction at The Creek - Detour Update

Even a closed road can’t keep fans from The Creek

SPRING VALLEY, MN - May 21, 2014:  The hot summer months are just around the corner and in Minnesota that means two things, racing at Deer Creek Speedway and road construction.

Starting May 19th Highway 63 will be temporarily closed as updates and repairs are made to the bridges on both the North and South side of the speedway.

Both bridges will now be CLOSED to all traffic.

Originally it was understood that if you were coming to the speedway or campground you were not considered “through traffic and that you would be able to drive past the road closed signs, however, we were recently made aware that things have since changed.
The good news is there are plenty of alternative routes to get you to The Creek!

The following suggestions are paved road alternatives.  Multiple gravel road options are also available.
Keep an eye out for signs that will help you get to the speedway!

Travelers from the Southeast who will be heading North through Spring Valley will want to go North on County Road 8.

This will loop you around to the North side of the speedway.  You will then have to head South on Highway 63.

Travelers from the North who will be heading South will want to go Southwest on Interstate 90

Take Exit 205

Make left turn off of ramp onto Cty Rd 6

After ¼ mile make right turn onto Cty Rd 8

After 5 miles you will reach a stop sign.

Take a right at stop sign and continue on Cty Rd 8

After 4 miles make a left turn onto Cty Rd 2

Continue on Cty Rd 2 for 5 miles

At stop sign make a right turn onto Hwy 63

Travelers from the West will want to go North on Country Road 8 (2mi) in Grand Meadow then East on County Road 2 (5mi)

As this may cause for temporary headaches in the short term it will make future trips to The Creek more convenient.  The project is scheduled to be completed by June 20th.
