Davis Continues Win Streak, Breaks Modified Record

SPRING VALLEY, MN - June 7, 2012 (Photo Courtsey of JD Photography)  Jerry Young led out of turn two for the early on in the Hinz Trucking USRA B-Modified feature event. Behind him there was four wide race for second with Trevor Fecht taking the spot and Kylie Kath moving into third as the field settled down. An early caution saw Young and Shaun Walski battle for the lead on the restart. Walski took the spot with Kath and Ben Moudry racing for third behind Young.  With three down Kath made a move to take away second from Young leaving him to race with Moudry for third. With six completed another restart saw Kath and Walski side by side for the lead. Kath took over the top spot on lap seven while Fecht now sat solidly in third. Another restart on lap eleven saw Scott Demmer who started fifteenth move into the top five and eventually wrestle fourth away from Young before the checkers flew. Fecht and Walski battled for second over the last four laps with Walski holding onto the second spot. At the finish it was Kath with the win, Walski, Fecht, Demmer and Young rounding out the top five. Walski, Erik Kanz and Jacob Bleess took home heat race wins.

Fred Prudoehl held off a hard charging Mike Blowers early on in the Cap N Cork WISSOTA Street Stock feature event with a three wide race for third early on. As the field settled down slightly Cory Adams sat in third. Adams and Shaun Mann raced hard for third on lap four as a yellow waved. On the restart Blowers again challenged Prudoehl for the lead and on lap five took control of the feature event. Troy Voth worked into the top five as the laps clicked off. At the finish it was Blowers, Prudoehl, Adams, Voth and Mann in the top five.  Adams and Blowers won the heat races.

In the Dirt Doctor Trucking WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds Jeff Born jumped out to a strong lead early on. Cory Crapser and Bill Stettner raced for the second spot with Dustin Scott in fourth. With two down the top four exited turn two four wide for the lead with Born still holding a slight edge for the lead. With four down Crapser again pushed hard to take over the lead. On lap six Born finally gave the lead to Crapser while Scott running close behind started to pressure Born for the second spot. Scott took over the second spot on lap eight with Jared Boumeester following through to third as the white flag flew over the field the yellow waved bringing out a 3 lap dash. On the restart Scott pressured Crapser for the win but was unable to complete a pass. Crapser took home the win ahead of Scott, Boumeester, Cody Gardner and Stettner. Crapser and Gardner won heat races earlier in the night.

The Wagner Trucking WISSOTA Super Stocks put on a great show tonight with Ryan Siegle and Josh Bartel racing for the lead on lap one. Michael Hofer quickly put himself into the third spot with two complete. Up front Siegle now sat along in the lead. While Kelly Anderson moved into the top five running a higher line than everyone else. Anderson moved past Hofer for third spot and both moved past Bartel for second and third. With nine complete Siegle and Anderson were side by side for the lead. Jeff Brauer was working on Hofer for the third spot. A late restart set up a dash to the finish and a classic Super Stock battle. On the restart Anderson and Siegle were side by side for the lead with Brauer right behind them. Anderson was scored the leader as the white flew over the speedway. Siegle was inside of Anderson as Anderson closed up another half lane on the bottom of the speedway only allowing Siegle just enough room to run against the infield. As they flew into three Siegle held off the brakes pulled alongside of Anderson for the lead but when he picked up the gas the momentum was too much causing the back end to step out. Anderson came home with the win, Brauer, Hofer, Kevin Hager and Bartel rounded out the top five.

The Altenburg Construction WISSOTA Late Models had a very entertaining battle for the lead early on with Jerry Bloom out front. Nick Herrick sat in second but by only about a half car length at the line each lap. Jake Redetzke sat in fourth with Mike Prochnow and Kyle Jumbeck racing for fifth. A restart with five down saw Bloom continue to lead just ahead of Herrick in second. Redetzke moved into the third spot ahead of Nate Beyenhof in fourth. Herrick still stayed tight to Blooms driver's door as they circulated the track. Another caution flew on lap eleven with Bloom leading, Herrick in second. Herrick and Redetzke battled for second while following Bloom up front. Herrick finally took over the lead on lap fourteen as Bloom dropped back. Redetzke sat in second while Kyle Jumbeck and Neil Eckhart made their presence noticed in the top five. As the checkers flew it was Herrick with the win, Redetzke, Jumbeck, Eckhart and Bloom rounded out the top five. Redetzke and Prochnow won the heat races.

Mark Teske Powered by on the high side out of turn two to take the lead in the NAPA AutoCare USRA Modified feature event. Brad Waits sat in second early on with Darwyn Karau and Brandon Davis racing for third. With three complete Lucas Schott took over the fifth spot while Teske kept flying out front. With eight completed most of the field was up top except Davis who found a line in the middle of the track. With ten down Davis took over the third spot and on the next lap moved past Waits for the second spot. With thirteen complete Davis and Teske were side by side at the line. Davis led lap fourteen. A caution on lap seventeen slowed the field with Kelly Shryock taking over the fifth spot on the restart. On lap nineteen Shryock took over the third spot and moved past Waits for second on lap twenty. Paul Knauf took over the fifth spot as the white flew over the field. At the finish it was Davis with his fifth win in a row at the speedway breaking Tim Donlinger's four race win record at Deer Creek Speedway. Shryock, Waits, Schott and Knauf rounded out the top five. Heat races were won by Waits, Shryock, Jay Ihrke and Karau.

Earlier in the day the Truck Country Slingshots took to the 1/5 mile Button Buck Speedway. In the Pee Wee division Easton Wasmund led the field to the checkers with Evan Reyna, Karlie Wagner, Joe Chisholm and Brian Grimm rounding out the field. IN the junior division JT Wasmund led early until Keagen Einck took control of the race. Einck took home the win ahead of Jim Chisholm, Wasmund and AJ Johnston. The senior division saw Dustin Sorensen lead early with Jackson Hale taking over the point on lap three and leading to the checkers ahead of Derek Clement, Jim Chisholm, Dan Olson and Sorensen.
