Hewitt Best in Show Against Record Turn Out
SPRING VALLEY, MN: April 1, 2012 – Forty of the best looking cars in the Midwest were on hand this past weekend for the annual car show which was a record high since moving the event to Clements Chevrolet in Rochester, MN. A steady crowd came throughout the day to look at the hard work that has gone into these machines during the off season.
Each weekly Deer Creek Speedway division was represented along with thirteen Slinghots and three Outlaw Mini Mods. “Best in Class awards were given to each weekly division with #66 Dan Bohr taking home the hardware in the USRA Modifieds, #24 Justin Sass in the WISSOTA Late Models, #54 Mike Fitzpatrick in the WISSOTA Super Stocks, #88w Curtis Wilson in the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, #44 Al Wagner in the USRA B-Mods, #3k Karl Hewitt in the WISSOTA Street Stocks and #24Tanner Johnston in the Slingshot division.
This year we had our first ever Facebook fan vote to allow those who couldn’t make it have a say in who they felt had the best looking car and that award went to the #71 USRA Modified driven by Jason Cummins.
The final award of the day was the overall best in show. This award is voted upon by the fans and goes to the car they feel was above the rest and this year that award went to Karl Hewitt, driver of the #3k WISSOTA Street Stock.
The staff at Deer Creek Speedway would like to thank the drivers and fans for attending the show and a special thanks to Clements Chevrolet for being a great host.
